release #5 on Nick Harvey Music is an underground track called "Wurkin". it literally stands for "Wurkin" as i am WURKIN it to the bone lately - and there's only ONE thought behind that: THE ART. I wanna bring good and interesting underground music on my label. Releases that other labels might reject because it does not "fit into today's sounds"... and of course there are and will be releases that other labels would have loved to do but now i took matters into my own hands.

When I was a kid I would sing and dance in front of the mirror to Madonna, Duran Duran, and Prince. At the time I rebelled against my Costa Rican parents' mariachi music, but that didn't stop my mother from grabbing me out of my seat and making me dance with her all the time. Obviously, I got my groove from my mom.

When I sing & play guitar live I do a combination of vintage Mexican & Country songs which in-turn have inspired original songs. The recordings of these songs are produced with an "Electro-Acoustic" sound (produced with Abe Seiferth). DJs have also taken an interest in remixing my recordings into hi-energy dance songs, which have caught the attention of New York's #1 dance label, Hades Music. 'In A Song', my first release, went all the way to #15 on Billboards Dance Club Play chart & spent 13 weeks on the countdown. My new song, 'All the Stars', is going to dig my feet a little deeper in dance music, though I have an nylon-string acoustic guitar held tightly in my hands. People have continuously told me that I need to choose a genre, but I love being a Mariachi one week & the King of Disco the next!!!

EMPULSE is the brainchild of NYC producer & DJ Reed McGowan. Refreshingly cathartic in it's approach,"Fight the People" is an anthem against violence which showcases the dynamic vocals of club diva Zhana. A broad range of mixes complete this project, from the production talents of Michael Hades, Edson Pride, Warren Rigg, Naked Highway, Tim Letteer and Paul James.
